BT Tip

Engelberg is a small, manageable village. Nevertheless, there are some things you should not miss ...

TRAVEL by Train

You can reach us easily by public transport and protect the climate. And so you don’t have to haul your luggage around, we offer an attractive luggage service in with SBB: your bags and suitcases are picked up at your home and brought to your hotel room where you will find them waiting when you arrive. Of course, we will be just as happy to take care of the return transport too. The offer is available for free for bookings made by 31 October 2021. More information and booking

Roastery Engelberg

From a small shop in the Dorfstrasse flows an intense and unusual fragrance. Is that coffee? Yes. Sophia and her brother Oskar have been running a small coffee roasting business here since 2015. In the mornings they roast, pack and deliver. In the afternoons, the two open the doors of their shop and advise their customers during a coffee. Their products carry creative names like : Sunny Side, Dark Side or Blue Bird. Here is guaranteed a nice gift!
In addition, they also offer courses for small groups in their shop - an ideal alternative for a less active daily program.

Restaurant Fürenalp

So close and sometimes so far away. The Fürenalp somehow towers over Engelberg. At the end of a side valley, you take the small gondola and a few minutes later you arrive at 1850 meters above sea level. Surrounded of an imposing mountain panorama there is the small restaurant of Josefa and Urs Portmann. On their terrace you can enjoy the sun, food, drink and "let Lord be a good man". During summer months you can also reach the restaurant via a spectacular via ferrata or you can take a hiking trail.

Restaurant Alpenrösli

A place of longing. From mid-May to mid-October, the mini-restaurant is open. It is about 7 km from Engelberg and is located in the canton of Uri - but this has to do with Engelberg as an  enclaves. In Alpenrösli traditional Swiss cuisine is cooked and served, the Rösti are absolutely awesome! It is wonderfully leisurely and guarantees a peaceful evening.

Spielwaren Marlies/ Marlies Toys

A true backflash. With Angie the owner and sister of Marlies- you will find great games for young and old. And the best: here you get a full consultation. As soon as you enter the shop, you are set to slow motion, you take your time, browse and get detailed information on all articles. Angie knows every game she sells and what she recommends. Maybe she does not have every article like an online-shop, but there's still something fitting.

SAC Brunnihütte

On Engelberg's sunny side, at 1860 meters above sea level. is Brunnihütte. It is all-year accessible and open. Since November 2018 the SAC hut is run by Irene and Livia. The two girls are serving regional dishes and homemade desserts. Those who do not get enough of their large sun terrace, may also stay overnight. All around, numerous hiking trails, Kitzelpfad in Herzlisee and in winter the family ski area. The Brunnihütte is the perfect hub for a day with your family or friends, where everyone finds his own rhythm.

OKAY Shop

The OKAY Shop by Dani Friedli is located on the ground floor of the Hotel Bellevue-Terminus. Between November and April you will find everything you need for freeriding or telemarking. But that's not all. At Dani Shop there is always a coffee, the latest news, a little chat and he can fix pretty much any ski again - no matter how blatant he looks .... Of course you can rent and test the whole material until you find "your" right one.

Cross-country skiing

Sedate? Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that! Anyone who associates it with leisurely senior sports has never covered the narrow skis for a few kilometers. 35 kilometers of trails are available in Engelberg. There are tracks in the village, on Gerschni and Trübsee groomed and even a lit night trail at SportingPark. Just try it, you will rarely find such incredibly good conditions. The ski schools offer courses for different levels. The finest equipment is available at the Go-in sports shop. Top advice, rental and sale.

By the way, with the guest card of the Hotel Bellevue-Terminus you save the trail fee.

SummerFERRY

Thursdays in August, probably the most beautiful concert series in Central Switzerland takes place: SummerFERRY.

Our friends from hotel SeeRausch in Beckenried and especially Mani Streule had the great idea to charter the "car-ferry Tellsprung" and let the best bands play on it. While the ferry chugs across the lake, guests are entertained on the "most exclusive stage" in central Switzerland. In addition there are incredible sunsets, drinks at the bar and an unforgettable evening.
Absolutely reserve tickets in advance, seats are limited.
